“Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.” (Deuteronomy 15:10 NIV)

God wants to bless your life. He has set up the universe so you get blessed when you follow his commandments and live like he wants you to live.

The Bible states it over and over again: God blesses those who are generous.

The Bible says, “Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to” (Deuteronomy 15:10 NIV).

Do you want God to bless all your work in 2016? Do you want him to bless everything you put your hand to? Of course you do! Then don’t be a Scrooge. Don’t be a taker. Be generous — with your time, your compliments, your money, and your energy. Be generous in every area of your life.

Consider this: Either you believe the promises of God or you think he’s lying. There’s really no other alternative. You’ll find more promises in the Bible about generosity than anything else. Why? Because it’s a principle God wants us to learn.

I’ve discovered this over and over in my life. Kay and I have been raising our giving every year since we were married. I didn’t tell anyone for almost 30 years. Early on there were some tight years. At times we could only raise our giving a quarter of a percent. Even in tight times, we wanted to be more generous than the year before. We wanted to break the grip of materialism in our lives and become more like Jesus in the process. And God blessed us more and more!

We can’t out-give God. He’ll just keep blessing us and blessing us. It’s an amazing sense of joy to see God out-give you every single time. I want you to have that same joy!

Bless other people, and God will bless you more than you could possibly imagine.
