juonec4dmodels.poster@blogger.com, A few years back I was in New York City during the Christmas season. I remember standing in the middle of Fifth Avenue, watching thousands of people rushing by. Almost everyone looked pressured and stressed. Some even looked cranky. Of course, that’s not what Christmas is about! Christmas is about the greatest news ever – a miracle to celebrate. Let me share with you more personally about why we should never let busyness or traditions get in the way of worshiping Jesus at Christmas: So what are we celebrating at Christmas? First, God loves you. That’s why God sent Jesus. Jesus came to earth on a mission of love. On a mission to give you life: For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.                                                                                                                           John 3:16 (GNT) Second, God is with you. The Bible says Jesus is Emmanuel, which means “God with us.” Today, he’s telling you: It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.                                                                                                              Deuteronomy 31:8 (ESV) Jesus’ birth was – and is – good news of great joy. It’s good news for all people because God says, “I love you, I’m with you, and I’m for you.” Christmas is a time for real celebration, and I want you to know that your prayers and gifts help spread God’s Good News for all people all around the world – so thank you. I’m grateful for you! Pastor Rick |
