You might think that’s impossible in 2019 three decades after the Internet’s birth and after a century-long communications revolution that seemingly connected everyone on the planet via radio, television, and the World Wide Web. But for about 3,000 Unreached Unengaged People Groups (UUPGs) worldwide, that’s a reality. For years, Pastor Rick has partnered with caring people like you to focus his attention on reaching people groups around the world that have little or no access to the Gospel. Before planting Saddleback Church in 1980, he and his wife, Kay, both wanted to become international missionaries. They prayed for six months about where God might send them, focusing particularly on countries in Asia. But God said no. Instead, the Lord wanted Pastor Rick and Kay to start a missionary-sending church in a major metropolitan area. I mentioned in this issue’s lead article that every person has 168 hours every single week. Your ability to do what God has called you to do depends upon how you use those hours. You can invest them in what will last forever, or you can waste them. It’s really your choice. Most of the decisions you make in life are not a choice between good and bad.
