I want to invite you to an online worship service for prayer and communion this weekend. It’s a way for us to remember that, no matter what we go through, God is with us and Jesus brings us salvation. During communion, we can be grateful, knowing that one day we will look back and marvel at all God did for us during the coronavirus crisis.
I will also be praying for the protection of all people and their families, healing of those who are ill, and comfort for those who have lost a loved one.
This online communion (also known as the Lord’s Supper) isn’t meant to replace your involvement at your local church. In fact, it’s critical during this world-wide pandemic that you be an active participant in your church family.
This weekend’s online worship service is simply another opportunity while we’re self-quarantined to celebrate all Jesus has done for us. It’s also a time we can be together as the body of Christ.
In this time of uncertainty, we can have hope, because "our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal" (2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NIV).
Join me for this special service this weekend on Saturday, April 4th at 4:00pm PST. You can watch it online on my Facebook page (Pastor Rick Warren) or at Saddleback.com. It will be available on demand thereafter. One thing you’ll need to have ready is bread and juice (or wine) to use during communion.
I’m confident as we celebrate God’s promises, it will help replace any panic with prayer, any worry with worship, and any anxiety with adoration for God. Please join me this weekend for some encouragement and remember to share this invitation with a friend.
